Gary and Gayla Parker
Without a doubt, Gayla and Gary Parker know the blessings of God's promises and the difference He can make in the lives of those who seek His guidance and direction. As every believer has their story of faith and testimonial conviction of God's comforting grasp on one's life, Gayla and Gary are convicted to share how he penetrates the lives of those who graciously seek Him. Together, they have been married over 37 years and ministry partners since they first united. Through their life journey, they have counseled individuals and families that needed the uplifting and transforming love of the Lord. Thus, the vision for Business Chaplains of Texas was born to confront the needs of the people where they daily work. As an outreach to those seeking hope, Business Chaplains strives to be proactive in fulfilling what they believe the Lord has called them to.
Gary comes to Business Chaplains of Texas having served in full-time ministry during the past 30 years. He has ministered in Texas, Arkansas and Germany. His experience has given him the opportunity to preach and teach, lead in the assimilation of congregational merger, church planting, and partner with numerous mission efforts throughout central Texas, Arkansas, Germany, and three countries in the Baltic's.
Over the past several years, Gary has served in various capacities as a chaplain actively involved in touching the lives of people in the workforce. One area in which Gary has been instrumental in ministering has been as an Army contractor as he prepared troops for service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Gary is a decorated veteran and has utilized his experiences to help others through sharing God’s message of hope. His most recent battle has been overcoming cancer which has not only strengthened his spiritual convictions but confirmed God’s promise of care and love.
Gary is a fifth generation Texan and studied at Sunset School of Preaching prior to graduating from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. There he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Ministry and Evangelism.
Gary and his wife, Gayla reside in Waco, Texas where they are actively involved in their congregation and community. They minister together to promote teamwork through ministry in the community, family retreats, seminars, biblical studies and prayer ministry. They proudly have two grown children (one son, one married daughter and son-in-law) along with two lovely grandchildren.
